Nausea and Gastroenteritis
Nausea and vomiting can be due to food-poisoning, which results from eating toxic foodstuffs, including shellfish or moldy meat, and can lead to bacterial infections such as gastroenteritis. An allergic reaction to certain foods may also cause nausea and vomiting, as may a disturbance in the balancing mechanism of the ear (in motion sickness, for example). Morning sickness in early pregnancy is also common, but usually stops after the twelfth week. Migraine is often associated with nausea and vomiting.
They may be prevented by avoiding foods that are old, past their sell-by date, or in any way dubious; eating fresh vegetables and fruit, and ensuring they are thoroughly washed; drinking bottled water where tap water may be impure.
Treatment
Herbal Medicine An infusion of ginger, Roman camomile, or black horehound (not to be taken in pregnancy) helps reduce nausea and vomiting.
Homeopathy Pulsatilla 6c, Ipecacuanha 6c, and Arsenicum alb. 6c.
Acupressure This may be beneficial.
Diet and Nutrition Avoid dairy products, maintain fluid intake, and gradually introduce a Hght diet.

Herbal Medicine
Extract of milk thistle can reduce the likelihood of experiencing that unpleasant “morning after” feeling.
Treatment
Drink plenty of clean water (not sparkling water).
Homeopathy Take Nux vomica 6c.
Diet and Nutrition
Vitamin C (1g effervescent tablets in a glass of water are best).
Naturopathy Take Spirulina extract.
Gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis is usually caused by bacteria or toxins in contaminated food or water. The symptoms of the illness include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, stomach, pain, and cramp.
Treatment
Diet and Nutrition Drink plenty of fluids (but not ice-cold fluids, milk and milk -based products, or citrus fruit juice). Water mixed with a little salt and honey or sugar should help prevent dehydration. Do not eat until symptoms have eased, and then stick to plain wholegrain foods and fresh vegetables for several days. Eal plenty of live, natural yogurt to restore the protectile bacteria of the digestive system.

Homeopathy Arsenifum alb. 6c, Pulsatilla 6c, and Ipecacuanha 6c can all be helpful.
